The window pane

The window pane is closed,
Even though it’s sublime it’s not clearly confined.
The dots of imperfection can be seen here and there
And so it takes no time for a passerby to judge what’s inside,
They say what’s inside might be ‘just fine’,
And at some imperative places the sun might shine.
They say there’s nothing special about it,
It’s just another window
But nobody realizes that what’s inside is the most precious thing alive!

New life

It was one of the darkest nights
I didn’t know where to go, which path to take.
I didn’t know which was the safest place .
I was full of ambiguity and anxiety
What if a messed up? What if I chose the wrong path?
There was no sign of life and no sign boards to help me get through .
All I had was an outlandish spunk;
I knew it would take me forward, show me the right way;
I knew if I gave up I would be stuck forever in this obscurity.
I knew this was the time to choose the most laborious
I halted for once to hear my heart beat and it showed me the right way .
Soon the sun shined and the flowers blossomed and I was back to enjoy my new life..

Chances

With a sigh she closed the door; she was finally free from the shackles of confinement at home.  This was the start of her new life and even though  she was clueless about the future she had the prowess to face it .She knew her future would be better than her present and with this belief she move on.
She was Emily, my classmate .Emily was rapacious and selfish to the whole world but I knew the real her. She was a sensitive person with a hard crust outside and I don’t blame her for her rude attitude as she struggled a lot to hide her pains. On the first day of school I approached her to share the lunch table and the next thing I knew that I was thrown in the dustbin .It didn’t take me long to realize that the whole school hated her and was scared of her rebellious actions.
One day I saw her crying and even though I was scared to again end up in the dustbin I approached her. This time she was kind and unfolded the dark truths of her life. I was flabbergasted, with lump in my throat I stubbed my tears from rolling down the cheek. She told me her mother was dead and how her dad sexually abused her everyday.
The next day I heard she eloped from her house .Today I find her in front of me but not physically, she’s on television winning millions of hearts..Emily is now one of the richest women on earth and a great philanthropist.

Eve Teasing

When I walk past you, don’t stare at me,

When I put my head down, don’t make those noises,

When I try to ignore, don’t follow me behind,

Because I’m innocent, I’ve done no crime.

Your every stare excruciates me, your lewd noises exasperates me,

Still I keep quite, because I’m helpless,

Even if I break out nobody will care,

It’s bad, it’s inhuman but who cares

Everyone says it’s a part of who I am.

A Flight

When things go wrong, when nothing seems right,

When the stars above you do not shine.
Keep the faith in you; keep the ray of hope always enlightened,
Let go all the losses, let the precarious make you strong,
Let the waves take you along.

Open your arms to a new start, because if the end isn’t happy it’s not the end,
It’s a new beginning.
A beginning which will take away all your fears and accelerate your flight.

RAGGING-A SOCIAL EVIL

I often think to myself how the little seed of kindness that was sowed in innocent years of childhood reaped into a cactus with thorns that hurt others around. I often think to myself what internal compulsion leads one to go against the very divine nature of mankind. I often think to myself if these are humans what would beasts be like?
On March 7th, 2009, Saturday morning, Aman Kachroo, 19, a first year student of Dr Rajendra Prasad Medical College, died of brain hemorrhage. The incomprehensible reason was an aggressive streak that over powered a few young men of the same college. Aman had been allegedly complaining to his parents that he was being bullied but they chose to believe that things would be fine ahead.
Satwinder Kumar, ended his life on 3 March 2010. He was a student of the Advanced Training Institute, Mumbai. In his suicide note he named seven seniors who had ragged him so much that he left for home for Kurukshetra rather than take mid-term exams. Before he could reach home, he committed suicide by throwing himself before a goods train in Rajasthan's Jhalawar district.
Ragging perhaps began as a friendly gesture of introducing new comers to college seniors but this warm welcome ceremony strangely turned into a brutal outlet of aggression, ego and intolerance. Every year the joy and triumph of nearly 5 lac students upon admission is turned into fear and anxiety. It starts from something as small as missing college on the first day out of fear of ragging to committing suicide.
India has the highest suicide rate in the world and isn’t this alarming enough for us to rise and do something about it? So many innocent students like Aman continue to die and The college chooses to form the cultural committee first and chooses to alot the fund for elections much before it thinks of protecting human rights by forming a committed anti-ragging society. An anti-ragging committee should be formed in every college and strict laws should be made to punish those who practice this social evil. Yoga, value education and anger management classes should be held for seniors, so that they don’t end up being brutal. Lighting candles and writing placards is just the beginning. We need to take responsibility as a society, and as individuals. That possibly is the only way we can prevent another Amann Kachroo from being lost.

8 simple rules –one of finest sitcoms

8 simple rules to date my teenage daughter is one of the finest situational comedy .It’s about an overprotective dad and his insecurities in terms of protecting his daughters from a bad-bad world his. John Ritter stars as Paul Hennessy, who’s traumatized when he realizes that his daughters have entered into the most challenging time of their lives. He’s not ready to accept the truth that his daughter’s have grown up and tries to protect them by imposing irritating yet necessary rules. Unfortunately the first season ended with a sudden death of John Ritter in reality, which paved the way for C.J., the daughter’s cousin and Jimmy their grandfather to join the show.
Paul is funny, rational, possessive and loving dad. Cate Hennessy, the mother is a busy nurse but much easier going in terms of handling her teenage daughters. Bridget is the eldest daughter and the only blonde in the whole family; hence as stereotyped she’s beauty without brains .She’s confident, beautiful, smart and therefore always surrounded with boys. Kerry, the middle child is nick –named by her father as ‘care –bear’. She is sarcastic, introvert, smart, intelligent and always compared to her sister, who’s more beautiful than her. She always passes snide remarks that help her hide her real self.  She underestimates herself and believes she’s not given enough importance as she’s the ‘middle child’. Rory the youngest of all the siblings is notorious and always believes in tattling about her sisters .  C.J. is one of the finest characters of the show and you are bound to fall in love with him at the end of the season. After Paul’s death he was the only reason for the survival of the show.
You may find during season 3 that the writer’s are trying too very hard to make the show interesting and hence it can be irritating. But still it manages to be funny and maintain it’s decorum to be 8 simple rules is a rib-tickling and addictive family show.  It’s totally worth watching and every teenager as well as teenage parent can connect to it.

Wouldn’t it be fun, to be stranded on a strange but extremely beautiful island with your friends? Flight 29 down, a Discovery kids show is about seven kids stranded on a strange island after their plane crashed during their journey to an eco –trip. The seven protagonist embarked their journey to an eco – trip, but little did they know that they would soon have to struggle for their survival. Every character of the show is well-defined and very close to reality. The show is very informative as well as very fascinating. It helps you to understand the importance of hard work, team work, right attitude and leadership. Once you see the show you would never have a problem surviving on a deserted island.
Nathan the main protagonist of the show is a hard-worker, adventurous, smart, competitive and tries extremely hard to prove himself. Daley is a true politician and the greatest competitor of Nathan. She’s bossy, overconfident and believes that she’s the only sensible person on the Island. Lex is the most amazing character of the show .He’s not more than 10, but is extremely brilliant. He’s the ‘know it all guy,’ who plays the most important part in the survival .Jackson is portrayed as the mysterious bad guy which as usual is not true .The reason for his behavior is an unfortunate event that he had come across. He’s the heartthrob and reason for most of the girls to watch the show. Taylor is the blonde girl and as usual beauty without brains, but in the end she turns out to be quite useful .Eric is the' lazy bones' of the show, who finds excuses for not doing work. He’s also the mean guy and manipulates people. Mellissa is Nathan’s best friend and likes Jackson.  She’s kind, helpful and good in saving people's life ,thanks to her first aid skills.
If you’re looking for a good show this summer and you like the ‘Lost’ , you should surely go for it. It’s a complete family show, with no obscene scenes like other teenage shows have.

Make It Or Break It -Watch it or Stop It

Make It or Break It, is a teen drama that explores the world around four gymnasts –Emily, Payson, Lauren and Kaylie .In the beginning it was inspirational to see the girls working hard to achieve their dream of reaching the Olympics but as the show unfolds the focus shifts on their love lives . Make It or Break It is a show full of swift and quite predictable twists and turns like every other teen drama. But unlike other teen dramas it inspires people to follow their dreams crossing all the brick walls that come along their journey to success. The portrayal of the stunts involving gymnastics is fascinating and graceful.
The show is quite realistic and it actually seems that the protagonists are international players. Emily is the ‘sweet girl’ and my favorite character; she’s passionate but lacks confidence. She’s the only responsible person in the family as her mom is a hyper active creature who knows nothing but socializing and making crazy boyfriends. Unfortunately as the season two unfolds she loses interest in gymnastics and drops her career. Payson is the’ hard worker’ and the best gymnast in her team until she suffers a back injury which ruins her chances of doing gymnastics again .But hope, determination and a good doctor brings her back to where she left. I don’t have a specific word or Kaylie because I couldn’t understand her throughout. Lauren is the mean girl of the show, she’s self-centered and insecure .She’s a traitor, but somewhere deep down she’s good. She’s the only one who is not distracted from her path. If you like drama, action, love triangles, gymnastics and you are a teenager then you are on the right track.

Tick Tock...

A lie in, is all that I beg for
But he is cruel; he is harsh
He conquers my bed like he is the king
 And rips my sleep apart
He tells that the dreams I have seen for myself, are more profound
I don't have time to sleep
My destiny is yet to be found
He is mad as a hornet just repeats his words
 But his tick tock tick,
he doesn't let my dreams go blurred!
 He is an ALARM CLOCK
